Welcome to another instalment of the A to Z of Business Communication where we will be focussing on how VoIP is very much the communication technology of the future. The aim of this series is to inform readers about the benefits and underlying technology of our telephone systems.

Over the last few years, VoIP services have gradually increased in popularity and traditional technology such as ISDN and PSTN have started to be phased out. In fact by 2025, BT will no longer use these traditional communication methods. According to Ofcom, at the end of 2017 there was a total of 33.1 million UK PSTN lines and ISDN channels. To keep ahead of the curve, both large and small businesses must update their communication systems. Many businesses are unaware of the numerous advantages that modernization brings, particularly if they transition to cloud telephony systems.

Using a VoIP service is not only future-proof in terms of technology but also in terms of your business’ size. If your company grows and gains new employees, it is incredibly easy to setup these new workers with a VoIP telephone system. You’ll have no uncertainty with your communications when it comes to growth and can instead focus on more pressing issues.

Furthermore, VoIP technology has been designed with integration in mind. As an example, our primary supplier Mitel’s phone systems integrate with many third party applications such as Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, Microsoft Outlook and Netsuite.
